CONCUSSION & BRAIN INJURY

Over half of the signals sent in the brain are involved in vision, so it is very common when an injury to the brain occurs that eyesight is affected. Common problems after a concussion or acquired brain injury include:

       BLURRED VISION

       HEADACHES WITH READING

       LIGHT SENSITIVITY

       DOUBLE VISION

       PERIPHERAL VISION LOSS

Many times these symptoms are not directly thought to be caused from a brain injury as they can lie under the surface of consciousness.  Research has shown because of the neuroplasticity of the brain it has the ability to form new connections even after an injury.

Several treatment options are available to help the brain recover from trauma including tinted lenses, specialized near glasses, or personalized program of vision therapy. Schedule a neuro-developmental evaluation to get on track for a quicker recovery.
